We are off on holidays on Saturday (keep logging on to cleansheets, there are posts already to go that will be published next week) it's a skiing holiday, the irony of this is thatI have already slipped on ice an fractured my left arm right here at home while walking the hound! We're still going to go. Better to be there having my cooking and washing up done for me than here trying to do it with one arm. Pity I won't be able to ski but i look forward to enjoying the Alps and being the support team for those heading off to ski school every day.
The local A and E was bordering on comical the first 5 fellow patients I encountered all had slings, ranging in age from about 7 to 70 all of us were victims of the conditions.
You cannot be too careful, wear your most sensible shoes, check on neighbours and just go slow - better to arrive slowly and cautiously than broken. Take it from one who knows.
Sorry to see you slipped on the ice and broke your arm, easily done!! Anyway enjoy your holidays and relax.Happy New Year to you and family and no more slipping!!! for 2010.

Sorry to hear you fell, Heidi (the second member of the family who did that but not on the ice!). Hope you enjoyed your ski trip. Since your right hand is OK, keep writing (we love your web page). Happy New Year to all the family. Love, Margaret and Jimmy

Poor thing, I hope you're feeling ok. It's such a shame you won't be able to ski. I have seen (and I'm not joking) at least 50 falls in the past week - 3/4 of them in the same spot, 3 of them my own but luckily nothing broken (yet!). I've the wellies on going to work so hopefully this will help. Have a great time anyhow, the views will be incredible!

Thanks for the good wishes. I actually managed to ski and we had a great holiday. I had more movement in my arm everyday and except for driving and lifting children I can do pretty much everything.
